That was the Future Conference 2021
On 27 and 28 October 2021, our second AIRlabs Future Conference took place in Stegersbach – two days full of exchange, innovation and shared visions for the future of unmanned aerial systems. After the opening by representatives of Solar. One, the municipality and the ÖAMTC, the AIRlabs team introduced themselves and provided insights into current developments. A particular highlight was the keynote speech on the social acceptance of drones through virtual reality studies.
Afterwards, participants were able to experience a series of impressive live demonstrations – including VR environments, sound level measurements, ground control technologies, dongle connections and safety solutions such as rescue parachutes. In addition, the exhibition provided space for exchange and personal discussions.
The second day of the conference delved deeper into key regulatory and operational topics: from the AIRlabs operating manual to developments in drone law, enhanced containment and Article 15/16 applications to restricted airspace areas and practical flight experiences, such as the demo blood transport in Lilienfeld. Brief presentations of other partner projects rounded off the programme before a joint networking lunch concluded the event.
We would like to thank all partners, supporters and participants for two inspiring days full of knowledge transfer, networking and future energy.

Exciting insights into joint innovation projects
Together with Lakeside Labs, AIRlabs provides important knowledge transfer in the field of swarm communication and supports UAV swarm simulations with powerful computer infrastructure and specialised simulation environments. This also includes assistance with the necessary approvals and permits to carry out innovative research safely and in compliance with regulations.
