From Testing to Mission: Successful First Flight of the eHang 216 in LO R 10 Reichersberg
With a successful first mission in the LO R 10 “Reichersberg” airspace, AIRlabs Austria has reached another important milestone. Together with our consortium partner FACC AG and with the involvement of FH JOANNEUM, the test area was activated for the very first time.
The eHang 216 was deployed to officially initiate flight operations within LO R 10 “Reichersberg”. Following extensive bench and ground testing, AIRlabs Austria was pleased to support the necessary flight tests—marking a key step toward validating real-world operational capabilities.
The initial flight was accompanied by representatives of Austro Control, highlighting the strong collaboration with aviation authorities.
In parallel, comprehensive noise measurements were carried out as part of a research project. The analysis covered a wide range of systems—from small UAVs under 250 g to the manned-capable eHang 216. These findings contribute valuable insights into noise emissions and the future integration of advanced air mobility solutions.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all project partners who made this achievement possible, including FH JOANNEUM, FACC, Austro Control, and University of Stuttgart.
