The mission of AIRlabs Austria GmbH is to establish and operate a nationwide BMK innovation laboratory uniting all key stakeholders consisting of users, industrial companies and research institutions. This sustainably addresses the current and foreseeable future requirements from research, development, validation and integration of unmanned aerial systems. In this context, we operate in a public interest oriented and non-discriminatory manner in order to provide all interested parties with access to modern and versatile infrastructures along all technology readiness levels and test interests.

Public-Private Partnership

The AIRlabs Austria establishment is based on the initiative of a broad, national consortium and significant public funding within the framework of the FTI program Take Off by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection in cooperation with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency. This makes us a hub for industrial, scientific and societal interests - with the goal of investigating issues related to unmanned aerial systems as a whole. This construct enables us as a platform to access a multidisciplinary network of partners at any time and to offer a broad and profound competence in our infrastructure and services.
