Within the context of the AIRlabs innovation project aerial grassland survey (Project No.: 9.902.60004), UAS-supported aerial surveys were carried out in 2021 and 2022 to identify fauna before mowing activities. In order to make the validated findings from the latest aerial survey available to the public in a practical form, the AIRlabs Austria team has decided to publish an aerial flight guide for meadow surveys in cooperation with FH JOANNEUM and Holding Graz. It contains practical tips and recommendations for the preparation of drone flights, references to existing regulations as well as technical requirements for software and hardware.
