The Austrian Federal Economic Chamber today presented AIRlabs Austria as a pilot partner for its new initiative “Enabling New Things”. This is intended to provide access especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to test their innovative ideas. The focus of the partnership is on disseminating the testing possibilities of unmanned aerial vehicles for applications in numerous economic sectors.

In the AIRlabs Austria project funded by the BMK, a consortium of a total of 25 organisations from Austrian research and industry is working together to set up and operate an Austria-wide innovation laboratory. This is intended to enable tests of unmanned aerial systems for a wide range of civilian applications.

We would like to thank the numerous supporters, including State Secretary Magnus Brunner, Lower Austria’s Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, WKÖ President Harald Mahrer, WKNÖ President Wolfgang Ecker, Schiebel CEO Hannes Hecher, Frequentis CEO Norbert Haslacher, FH JOANNEUM Managing Director Martin Payer and FACC Director Marketing & Communication Andreas Perotti. We would also like to thank Goldeck-Flug GmbH for the great location in their hangar at the Wiener Neustadt airfield!
